GFWC seeks help to provide training equipment to county EMS agencies
Recently six pediatric Advanced Life Support packs, fully stocked with Advanced Life Support pediatric equipment, were presented to Orange Cross Ambulance by the Plymouth Woman’s Club, a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). The purchase of these items was made possible with the efforts of the GFWC and the Pediatric Jump Kit for Ambulance Project headed by the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC).
The jump kits will be instrumental for providing emergency care to sick and injured children for paramedics in the area that Orange Cross Ambulance serves.
These jump kits are specially made to serve a pediatric population. The inside pouches are color coded with the correct equipment for specific age ranges, making it easier for paramedic personnel to be able to choose the most appropriate equipment quickly for a child experiencing a medical emergency.
Enough jump kits and equipment were provided by this project to allow for all six of Orange Cross Ambulance’s Advanced Life Support units to stocked, including the new ambulance.
The GFWC Plymouth Woman’s Club is continually looking for donations to help further advance the care for children in the greater Sheboygan area. The Plymouth Woman’s Club is in the process of providing all EMS agencies that provide emergency response in Sheboygan County with vital training equipment to help prepare and train EMS staff for these types of responses. If you would like to donate, please make checks payable to GFWC Plymouth Woman’s Club, and send to: Janice Curtiss – Club President, 320 Reed St., Plymouth, WI 53073.
Your donation is tax-deductible: GFWC Plymouth Woman’s Club is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
