Automated External Defibrillators (AED) in the community

August 19, 2011

Orange Cross Ambulance would like to recognize the collaborative efforts of The Sheboygan County Sherriff, Town of Sheboygan First Responders, Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center, Flight for Life, and Aurora Grafton hospital for the efforts in resuscitating a cardiac arrest patient on April 23rd, 2011.

This successful resuscitation illustrates the importance of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) in the community. In this particular case, a patient was immediately defibrillated by a Sheboygan County Deputy who had an AED in his patrol car. The patient was taken by Orange Cross Ambulance to Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, where he was then transferred to Aurora Grafton Hospital by Flight for Life Helicopter. The patient has made a full recovery thanks to the efforts of all involved.
Pictured here are Lisa Baldwin and Jessica Boettcher of Orange Cross Ambulance, along with patient Richard Henderiske and Deputy Blodgett of the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department. Also pictured is other staff from all organizations that were involved.
It is through these collaborative efforts that we can continue to provide the best possible care to the Sheboygan County area.
